Safety and Security
School-run.org has been designed to be as safe and secure as possible. Below is a list of some of the security measures we've taken:
- Only parents with children at your school are able to register with your scheme
- Every scheme is password protected
- The system works entirely on information about the parents and schools. We require no information about children.
- Users are informed at each stage how their personal information will be used. More details can be found in our Privacy Policy
- All data is held on a secure database
- Liftshare never shares individual email addresses with any third parties, including advertisers or partners, without prior consent from our users
- The Liftshare Privacy Policy outlines the Terms and Conditions by which we collect and use information.
- Schools can add additional security measures to the scheme as they see fit.
Safety on the school run depends on the actions of the parents and children involved. Below are some tips to assist you in making the school run even safer:
- Ensure you don't share your School-run.org password with anyone
- Arrange to meet with the parents you'll be sharing the school run with before introducing them to your children
- Ask to see some form of identification, thereby confirming that the parent you're meeting is the same parent that registered with the school run scheme.
- Offer to show the other parents your insurance documents, tax disc, MOT certificate and driving licence, and ask to see their documents.
- You should confirm that the bicycles or cars which will be used to transport children are in good working order
- You should ensure that, if cycling, your child has undertaken appropriate training.
- Make sure you have all the relevant contact details of the other parents involved in your school run
- Arrange a meeting between your children, the other parents and their children
- Only let your children get in a car driven by a confirmed member of the scheme
- Ensure your children have the contact details of all relevant adults
- Explain to your children what they should do if a lift falls through
- Ensure that children under 12 years old and under 150cm tall use child restraints if they are fitted in a vehicle. Cars should not carry more children than there are child restraints or adult seatbelts.
- Ensure that you and the parents you share with never exceed the maximum number of passengers you may legally carry.
- Ensure that you have read, understood and agreed wtih the School-run.org Terms and Conditions
- School-run.org is purely a matching service and cannot take any responsibility for the subsequent actions of matched parties.
